What happened to February??????

I have been quite the slacker the last month and a half. I think I've been in a winter slump because I am so ready for spring that I didn't bother to celebrate the moment. And there have been a lot of great moments.

I turned 40 this month. I really wanted to be fabulous at forty but the truth is I feel a little more frazzled then fabulous. It was not a birthday I was really looking forward to. But of course Ryan always makes the day really great. We went to an early movie, shopping (and he is always so patient with me on my b-day) and to Outback for a wonderful steak. But the surprises didn't stop there. When we got home the kids had decorated the house and planned a surprise party with all of our family with cake and ice cream. Thanks family and friends for thinking about me and making sure I had a great day.

Shaelyn had her Grand Concert this month. It really was incredible. I must say that Lehi Jr. High has an awesome fine arts department. Shaelyn is in the mixed choir and they have 100 students in their class. They also have a jazz band, orchestra, guitar class and hand bells. Shaelyn has such a pretty voice. I love that she is developing that talent.

Britnee played the last of her basketball games for this year. Of course she was on Sadie's team and Ryan and Jeff coached them. They had such a fun team this year. It was so fun to watch them play and see how much they improved since last year. Britnee would have to be the #1 defender, I really feel for the girls she gets matched up against because she won't let them get a shot. That's my girl.

The Lehi Tigers started baseball by going to the President's Day Tournament. Only Broc and Ryan went since I had a stake activity days for all the achievement day girls in the stake. It definetely wasn't the best tournament ever but I think they all had a good time together. Ryan didn't take any pictures so all I have to show you is the new Tigers uniform. Well at least the back of it. Broc wouldn't turn around and pose for me so this was as good as it gets. I told him that I would just have to take a picture of his cute butt!! ( so if you see him be sure to comment on it, that will teach him to let me take my pictures). We're heading to St. George next week for March Madness. I can't wait, I am so ready for baseball to begin.

While the boys were away us girls did play. It was Valentine's Day by the way so we made it a girls day out. We had lunch at Chili's, cookies at Smart Cookie and went to see "Confessions of a shopaholic" (cute show by the way). Kathleen came with us and we had a really great day.

Last but definetely not least Shalece and I went to a Jazz game. (thanks Creed for the great seats). We were trying to decide who should get to go and believe it or not I won at paper, rock, scissors. That is probably the only game I can play against anyone of my family that I actually have a chance. It was an awesome game, of course the Jazz won.

Whew!! That was difficult. Note to myself: do not wait a month to blog about your life ever again.

Happy birthday Melanie! Is your hair darker? You look very pretty! At least you have rock, paper, scissors going for you -I don't think I have the best of luck with that game either.

Sounds like you had a busy month. We've been kind of boring this month. Stuck at home with a broken wrist. I'm glad you decided to catch us up. I like to know what's going on in your family. By the way, you are fantastic! I hope that I am as fantastic as you at 40!
