{The Gift}

Last Saturday was Ryan's 41st birthday. I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to get him. Occasionally he will drop a hint with one of the kids but this birthday I hadn't heard a word. I was opting to go with a gift card so he could get exactly what he wanted. But on the day of his birthday Shalece & I have a conversation like this.

Shalece: What did we get dad for his b-day?
Me: I just got a gift card, why do you know what he wants?
Shalece: Yes!!!! He really wants Rockband for the Playstation 3.
Me: Hum. Are you sure? He hasn't mentioned a word of that to me.
Shalece: I am sure we had a conversation about it a few weeks ago and he really, really wants it.

So after a few more minutes of persuasion Shalece wins and even offers to go and pick it up and have it wrapped for him when he gets home from the Priesthood Session.

(Shae was at the movies, that's Mick hiding behind Broc)

Needless to say it is Monday now and Ryan hasn't even had a chance to try out Rockband. The picture below shows what all of my children did the entire day on Sunday after watching conference. Hmmm.......I wonder who wanted Rockband. As for Ryan, he is such a great dad!! He isn't even mad that the kids got themselves a present for his birthday. We love you Ryan, you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Ryan! 41, your an old man! I bet Ryan will have his turn at Rock Band and just love it. I'm excited for the next time we come to stay at your house. You got to give Shalece credit though. That is a pretty creative way to get what you want. Love ya.
